  • Cereal Products-As long as they are made from rice bran, corn, lentil flour, amaranth and polenta.
  • Rice crackers are ok for snacks. You can also have corn tortillas and taco shells made of corn. Corn chips, plain chocolate and popcorn are also fine.
  • Gluten-free pasta-Bean or rice vermicelli can be on your list as well as can rice and buckwheat noodles.
  • Condiments and sauces-are permissible though you should be careful. Vinegar, honey, tahini, tomato paste and jams are ok.
  • Drinks like mineral water and tea and coffee are also fine.

Always read product information/ingredients

Do not just buy weight loss products because they are wheat free. Make sure that they have a gluten-free label. Check out the list of ingredients when you are buying weight loss food. You need to be aware of what foods, additives and medicine may contain gluten. There are foods and weight loss products that may contain gluten and have the label modified starch written on them.

Do not ever self-diagnose. Never do this. Do not tell yourself that you have celiac disease. Only your doctor is qualified to diagnose the disease by checking for bowel lining damage through endoscopy, blood tests or bowel biopsy. The gluten-free diet may seem to be intimidating but you can still enjoy most of your favorite foods.
